Marching March!

" Setting a goal starts with a dream, a desire for something you really want. Planning is the road map that leads you to your destination. Motivation is the fuel that takes you there. But first, you have to have a goal, and that, it is to succeed " - Being the Best

Doubtlessly, March has been an amazing month for me! There were many happenings that could either make or break me, ups and downs, and highs and lows. And note, this month wasn't all about me but the country too. For sure, these memories are to last for eternity. And i survived these thrilling roller-coaster ride!

Quaint, as i have described it in my older post, the one and only Kuala Kubu Baru!

The faith of Malaysia was in the hands of Malaysians on the 8th March! Early morning in the market near my house. An experience.

12th March! My birthday! Sri Bayu, Bukit Jalil for dinner.

Break of dawn, breathtaking view of the beach in front of Swiss Garden Kuantan.

Wasn't me the only one getting older (oops, i mean, mature). My sister turned 19 last 25 March. Besides my sis and i getting maturer, my cousin, Sue Yin celebrated her birthday too, my grandma, my friend Kar Wai C, and two of my aunties. To all March babies, cheers!

My personal handphone! Sony ericsson K810i! It has all i needed in a handphone. With it's 3.2 mega pixel camera, i'm soon pursuing my hobby to photograph more.

Make It!

My SPM result was out this month too! And thankfully, i scored 10 As! The school's straight As students were invited to share a speech during the 'Program Tiru Macam Saya'. I quoted the above!

NST's Focus did a nice article about butterflies. And butterflies even know their ABC. Those are the letters found on the wings of the butterflies! Wonderful nature ain't?

That's all about March, and that's a lot to digest. However, March has been, truly, inevitably, an amazing and great month. wc08, signing out and hoping that April will bring forth as much fun as March! To close this post, i would like to share with you a picture. An innocent-looking kid sits beside a lady who is riding a bicycle on the morning of the Malaysia 12th General Election.

Beware : April's Fool!

Fevering American Idol S7

" Blazing Hot! "

Top 10! And this season, the contestants are talented and vocally good. Yesterday's show just worsen my Idol fever! There were 3 singers that 'took my breath away', made an 'eclipse in my heart' and are 'champions' of their own way', and they'll surely 'rock you'! Even if they fail to make the cut, they are already idols to many- and to me too. These are the videos i got from youtube featuring the 3 magnificent performances of the night. Watch them, and i guarantee that they'll wow you!

An Australian whom i have admired and rooted for since his Hollywood Week. He proves once again that he got the package and what it takes to be the next sensation! Top of the night!

Another favourite of the night. In fact, it's very difficult to sing and play the piano at the same time. She's just talented and i credit her for that! Very original too, remind me that the Police's song is that good!

I call her the 'tattoo' singer. She has such powerful vocals and i think she did very well in this song. A singer that should be in the competition, as she was in the bottom 3 last week.

There were others that performed quite well, but i simply didn't like them as much as these. Like David Cook, the judge, Paula, gave him a standing ovation, but i think it's just not as good as she thinks! He's good, but i just don't like him. Like it but not love it...

Celine Dion's coming! April 8th! My all-time favourite will be performing in Malaysia. Anybody out there with free tickets to her show, bring me! I'll send you a million thanks if you give them to me. Taking Chances! And i may never have the chance again to see her. However, one of my many dreams is to see her performing in Vegas! To mark her presence in Malaysia, i'm going to play her songs over in here. She's magnificent!

wc08, is 100-degree Celsius hot with his 'fever' and trying to cool down...

Hitherto...

" Until this time "

Already a week after the SPM 07 results were released? Nearly. And i had much of thinking to do- and that i'm only racing against time. Don't ask me what i want to do as i'm still unsure. But the path will be drawn soon and the way there will be as tough as it will be. As to now, i'm only applying for scholarships here and there!

There was a very cautious man,
Who never laughed or played,
He never risked, he never tried,
He never sang or prayed,
And when he one day passed away,
His insurance was denied,
For since he never really lived,
They claimed he never died.

This poem is borrowed, entitled Opportunity Missed (Or the Curse of Permanent Potential ). I found this poem very true to me now, as to where am i in life. For sure i don't want to be that 'very cautious man' and i hope i did not miss out on any opportunity coming along the way. What captures my attention in this poem is the last 2 lines, which simply states the whole point. To risk, and take chances. wc08, is thinking hard, and racing fast to win time!

Rising Tides...

" It is a great nuisance that knowledge can be acquired only by hard work "

Finally, after holidaying for more than 3 months, came the moment of truth. Marked on the calender this 12th March, all SPM07 leavers will remember this date. By 10.45am, the teachers were back to school, with results in their hands. They held it for about 10 to 15 minutes- i'm not too sure of myself either, the adrenaline was so immense that i couldn't even bare looking at the time. We waited impatiently in our school canteen, with fans off, for the results. However, when the teachers arrived, we were hesitating to take the results- blame it on the nerves!

9112

This will be the 4-digit number i will remember for life. My results lie deeply hidden in this code, deciphered and cracked open would simply mean i got 9 A1s and 1 A2! Somehow, deep in my heart, deep, i felt like i was betrayed, stabbed from the back and unpleasantly surprised by somebody. Somebody whom i trusted, have confidence in him, but turned out otherwise, like a snake. His name is 'Bahasa Melayu'. And it was him that made my results seemed less perfect. And he's the A2 guy. Nevertheless, it's still an A and i have forgiven him, even bandaged my cracked faith, and auto-self healed and regenerated the dead cells due to the 'stab'. Time to brag and boast, and sorry if i am to accidentally hurt your feelings. I scored STRAIGHT AS! And i would say this is by far one of the best presents for a birthday. My birthday. Thankfully, this will be a memorable and an unforgettable day for me, for it was a long, happy and wonderful day!

As i said, flooded with birthday wishes, this year came along with a word of congratulation. Thank you for all! And apart from the results, i received an original DVD from my sis and my bro, one i have always longed for, and another storybook, an American literature, To Kill A Morkingbird, Harper Lee, from my bro. This was how the day went on...

Sri Bayu is located in Bukit Jalil Golf and Country Club. In fact, i celebrated my 16th birthday here too but that was buffet lunch. What a coincidence? To pamper myself, i ordered and feasted on the Grilled Fillet of Chicken with Cheese. A little overboard with the cheese though.

A birthday cake. No, my birthday cake! It's called Coffee Walnut Cake. Caffeine in the night anybody?

Picture perfect.

And that goes the wonderful day! Do come back for more! To mark my birthday in this blog, i'm going to launch, initiate and introduce the New 7 Wonders of this wonderful life and it'll be updated and posted along the sidebar.

The Next Day...

Off to the East Coast of Malaysia, Kuantan. Kuantan is a blooming town in Pahang, with sandy beaches and still unpolluted sea water, the town is my next destination. About 3 hours drive along the highway, we reached the town, but we stayed overnight in Swiss Garden Kuantan, Malaysia. It has been upgraded to a 5 star hotel and no doubt the lobby looks impressive and elegant. Bet their concept was 'water' as it's a resort situated along the beach. At night, the resort greets us with pleasure and a nicely-lit entrance that looks surreal, both peaceful and modern elements blended together, as we headed back after dinner.

Atmosphere, thumbs up!

3 Hours Before Dinner...

Beach wear? To the beach!

Welcoming our presence is Mr Wave. Wife, Mrs Breeze, was an easy lady to fall in love with.

Great sport!

Neighbours Mr and Mrs Crab invited us for a little game of 'Hide and Seek'. Guess who won?

A masterpiece done by Mr and Mrs Crab. Cool. And we pulled out from the game!

I was tempted to play the grand piano there, but i didn't go for it!

The Next Morning...

To get cheaper room rates, we chose not to have breakfast in the resort and headed to the town- we had an experience with it once. Back from breakfast, mingled around in the beach before packing back home.

The Chinese restaurant. The Blossom. Highly recommended, Hot and Spicy Szechuan Soup. Challenge your taste buds, ask for more or less pepper. Blew me away once!

Rising tides, drove back home. Behind the scene, this is also considered a mini makan makan trip. But enough with food, i'm trying something different. Face the fact, face the truth. Rising tides, it's more than just the title of this post, but carries hidden meaning, and that's for you to crack open yourself! wc08, is mixed with all emotion, but it's no doubt that he is cruising on cloud nine!

Nerves, nerves, and more NERVES!

" Butterflies in my stomach, trying to digest them, but simply couldn't "

11.33pm, 11th March 2008- Waiting anxiously for tomorrow. Tomorrow isn't just my birthday, which means i'll be officially 17 and can, as i said, resume my driving, but will also be one of the biggest, crucial and important part of my life. No, it's not the 12th general election- it's over, and anyway, i wasn't eligible to vote. Tomorrow will be all nerves-up, but i'm already feeling them now. I cannot close my eyes, even trying my best to push my 'sleep' button, but it's simply malfunctioning. Lying on my bed, facing the laptop, punching the keyboard and trying to relax.

11.41pm, 11th March 2008- The air-con is starting to cool up the room. As i am already shivering, the cold air emitted by the air-con even amplifies it and stimulates my cold receptors of my skin. Don't ask me what's on my mind- i will not answer you. And don't blame me for being rude. The nerves are getting more and more tense, rapidly. Just minutes away i'll be 17, and that opens a whole new page in my book entitled 'My Life'.

11.46pm, 11th March 2008- It's frustrating to see the clock ticking, and most of all, during this time. Tick, tick and more ticks!

11.47pm, 11th March 2008- Time. In hours, i'll know my results. It has been 3 months of holidays, but trust me, i feel like i just completed my Biology Paper 3 yesterday. They say time flies when we are having fun. But apart from having fun, time do flies too even when we sit at home, doing practically nothing but blogging, watching tv, and reading! Beginning to feel sleepy, may be the bed is too inviting. Or?

11.50pm, 11th March 2008- 10 minutes countdown for me to turn 17. Before 50 minutes ago, i was busy watching the tv, to be a couch potato. From 8 to 11, shows ranging from Who Wants To Be A Superhero?, Heroes and Damages. Juggling between Brothers and Sisters season finale with Damages, i opted for Damages. I can watch the repeat some other day. My mind is beginning to relax, and hopefully i can sleep. Tomorrow is a big, big day. As if i'm like going to get married tomorrow!

11.57pm, 11th March 2008- Ticks. 3 minutes away from tomorrow, Malaysian time. Feeling one year older soon, one year maturer over the previous.

11.59pm, 11th March 2008- Only a minute left before the clock strike 12 midnight. Down to 30 seconds. Thanks for those who wished me Happy Birthday before time (PJ and JN) and have a wonderful day tomorrow.

12.00md, 12th March 2008- Happy Birthday! And today will be a wonderful day!

12.01am, 12th March 2008- One minute older, growing white hairs and appearing wrinkles. Ageing, maturing. Eyes getting dry, and body feeling tired.

12.05am, 12th March 2008- Flooding in sms-es wishing me birthday and best of luck. Thanks guys! And all the best to those sat for SPM 07, awaiting results today. Nerves, nerves and more nerves. I'm ending here, and trying to force the 'sleep' button in, activating it, and do wish me the best of luck, finger-crossed!

Sleepy, quaint town of KKB

" What you speak so loudly no one can really hear what you say. But it is even more true that if what you are matches what you say, your life speaks loudly, louder "

Results! Apart from all the happenings this month will encounter, and soon encountering, comes results. Most crucial would be my SPM results due to come out next Wednesday, 12 March. Wish me the best of luck, and finger-crossed, to do well. As said to that, spending time to the maximum, praying and still holidaying, on this wonderful day of the eve of Malaysia's 12th Election- i will have nothing to do with that yet as i'm still underage and not eligible to vote, but i hopefully will in the 13th one.

Holidaying in KKB- short for Kuala Kubu Bharu. It's a small town, quiet and slow-paced. Unlike KL, this town offers clean air to breathe. For those not familiar with the place, it's still in Selangor, near Hulu Yam. About 45 minutes drive from KL. Roughly get it? Those empty-stomach readers, choose to not continue, it'll make you hungry. My dad is quite familiar with the place so he brought us on a mini 'makan' trip, with some sights to see, his site, and a dragon fruit farm! Love it...

Woke up early, about 7.15am. After the scenic drive along the way, we reached our first destination, for our breakfast- Pork Noodles...

I didn't order this. It's my brother's.

This is MINE. Saliva drooling yet?

After having breakfast in Hulu Yam, we headed to our next stop, another 'makan' place.

From afar, this hut roadside shop is our next stop. Take a closer look at what we had.

My brother couldn't wait for his turn, the Mee Kari. We shared.

Lotong. Enjoying the dish. Mouth watering yet?

Finally, i could rest my stomach for a while before lunch. Drove to my dad's working place. And wore a helmet for safety purposes.

Me, with helmet! Yuck!

Part of the site. Still under construction...

Located near the site, within motorcycle distant, is a hot spring. Really. It's hot naturally.

My brother, again, impatiently waited for his time at the spring. The place is a bit run-down, but still, function-able.

Missed the spring, but still have to go on. Next stop, from a distant, the dam.

Can you see it? The brownish, off-white brick wall like. It's that. According to my dad, it's a restricted area. Could go nearer, but it'll just be almost similar. Canceled it out.

This is part of the town, but it's just slightly bigger.

The next 'makan' place is near here. Hunting for it...

Found it! No time to waste!

BURP! Ah... done! My Hailam style Chicken Chop is now digesting after devouring it. Fries?

A plan of the town in the shop. Better take one picture of it. I think it's a people-know-people place. Found it in the shop, mind you.

My next destination is a must go for me during my visit there. It's a dragon fruit farm. Do you know what's it?

Ring a bell? Knocked your door?

The land filled with... dragon fruit trees!

Wasn't in time for harvesting, but managed to catch some growing ones. I didn't know it grows from the, whatever they call it, tip of the branch?
Properly arranged trees, like a lane. Or many lanes...

After the farm visit, went to a house nearby and given a few 'baby' dragon fruits to try. I didn't eat, but it was sweet, said the guy there. Sweeter than the bigger ones! Not long after that, we headed home. Seemed long, but we were back by 1.45pm! Overall, it's a good one-day out for another wonderful experience.

Stopping here. Counting my days, only 5 days left! 5 DAYS! And another results, the general election, coming tomorrow night! Nervous, wc08, with everything in his wonderful world!

Not the Oscars!

" More than meets the eye "

Lay the red carpets, blast the spotlights, call the paparazzi and be ready to be awestruck! No, it's neither the Academy Awards nor the Golden Globe, or even not the SPM 07 results day yet! It's the silver screen of 2007 favourites. These are my favourites of 2007, and they deserve to be remembered and recognized for. Some comments along it, and hope you'll be entertained throughout the whole ceremony, leaving the ceremony with a grin from ear to ear on your face!

Favourite Movie 2007 is the

Transformers! This movie is out-of-this-world fantastic! The show has a perfect blend of many elements, making this one a memorable and an unforgettable movie. It'll be difficult for any movie to beat this, or even be in par with them. Trying to get an original piece of the movie, dvd, but the cost could reach about RM100... Surely, it's worth the price!

Favourite Male Actor is the drunken but admirable Johnny Depp. His role in the Pirates of the Carribean:At World's End as the witty Captain Jack Sparrow marks him as one of my favourites!

Favourite Female Actor goes to the enchanting Amy Adams, of Enchanted. This fairytale lady turns out to be a princess, even in this world!

Favourite Animation Movie is chef-Rat, Ratatouille. This Pixar show really captures the hearts of many, even using the rats to cook food when we have the perception that rats are 'dirty' creatures. Dirty no more.

Favourite Sequel Movie would be the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. The team, with superhuman, superpower strength, fights the villains and save the world. The effects of Silver Surfer and the team makes this movie just fantastic...

Favourite Director is the guy that brought us Armageddon and the already favourite, Transformers. He is the Micheal Bay.

Favourite CGI Effect Movie is given to the mind-blowing, super-cool effects of Transformers. More than meets the eye.

Favourite Soundtrack is from the movie Enchanted.

Favourite Action Movie is no doubt Transformers. To protect, or to defend?

Favourite Unique Movie is again, Transformers. With the effects of the robots, and the human, this movie is simply one-of-a-kind.

Captain Jack Sparrow versus Optimus Prime. For Favourite Movie Character, it's to Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots. His leadership quality makes him the idol to be.

Most Anticipated Movie 2008 would be Narnia:Prince Caspian. The first was marvelous, and i bet many are looking forward to watch the sequel!

That's all and thank you. Transformers is a big winner of my heart, and the movies i watched nowadays will face a tough fight! Keep fighting, and i can't wait until Transformers 2, or whatever they call it, returns! wc08, grinning. You?
