Chapter 17 , page 1 to open soon!

" Change the changeable, accept the unchangeable,
and remove thyself from the unacceptable "

Closing Chapter 16 of my life is tough as there are too many sweet memories written. Sadly, time moves on, the pages will flip open and we must prepare for our future! Transforming into a new and better me is all i'm asking this New Year!

Before i start with Chapter 17, Chapter 16 of my life has been wonderful , all year round and this post, i would like to recap part of it. School life is one thing we should all appreciate and have fun. Once it's gone, it's gone. We cannot turn back time, therefore we should embrace every moment in school whole-heartedly. Many happenings in school will i remember them for eternity.

Being the President of Moral Club for two years straight, many experience had i gained together with my fellow friends! Learning to organize talks, trips and programmes taught me lots of new knowledge, beyond what i studied in the textbooks. The most memorable experience would be the MIRACLE's recycling competition with Mirjam (Netherland) and Momoko (Japan). All our hard work finally got us 2nd placing in the competition! Job well done!

Me, the part of the group together with Mirjam and Momoko. Hopefully they'll come back to visit us!

Another wonderful thing in my schooling life would be that i was given the chance to participate in Drama Competitions. Not for boasting purposes, we, the team, scored well in all three years in the district level, making the district proud in the states level and the school too. Hulu Kelang is the best!Me, the old-man role, with the team of 2007!

That's all for this post. There are lots more to come, and this is not even the the end of Chapter 16! Happy new year to all of you, and together lets usher in the new year with abundance of joy, happiness and success!Happy New Year 2008!

Music Of 2007!

"Music is not my life, music is not the life. Music is life"

Before 2007 closes, i had conducted a survey on 'favourite songs' of 2007 among my family and friends. This post, i'll be writing on the songs won and my personal comments to it. If it's your first time hearing the titles, i suggest that you try listening to them. They are really good! Although some may beg to differ, just so you know, the songs are of my selection, voted by, may be, you!

Favourite Male Singer is Akon! He was a convict and i guess that influenced you to vote for him. 'Smack that', and 'Don't Matter' if he's an ex-convict, he won. Others are James Blunt and Justin Timberlake!
Favourite Female Singer is Carrie Underwood! The American Idol 4 winner proves that she has the package. Doing well in the music industry, winning awards after awards, she's my favourite 'ever ever after'! Others are Fergie and Rihanna.
Breakthrough Artiste is Chris Daughtery! The American Idol finalist is simply good! With 'Home' and 'Over You', he wins the heart of many, over MIKA, Jordin Sparks and Sean Kingston...

Again, again and again is Glamorous, Fergie! G-L-A-M-M-O-R-O-U-S she is!
Favourite Collaboration is Apologize, One Republic and Timbaland!

Merry X'Mas !

"Jesus is the reason, for the season. Blessed Christmas everyone!" - cousin S. Yin

It's Christmas Eve today, Christmas Day tomorrow and Boxing Day the following day! Christmas is definitely a joyous celebration, it's the season to share our happiness with everyone!
I've been taking pictures of the Christmas decoration in many place, from shopping complexes to hotels... some are really beautiful, and others are just simple. But it's the spirit of Christmas and thought that counts most!

One Utama's New Wing, the Oval, with it's Christmas decoration. One of my many favourites!

I'm not sure whether it's completed, but it's really unique- polystyrene, in Swiss Garden Kuantan, Malaysia during one of my 'getaways'...

In The Pavilion with my bros, sis and my cousins, especially the one from Canada, but he's the one taking this photo. I suppose their theme is 'White Christmas!'

It's in Sunway Hotel in Penang, then one i stayed in during my visit to Penang.

Nice decor at Swiss Inn Sungai Petani, Kedah- during my stay in Kedah

JH, Crys, Me, Ji Mi and PJ in First World Indoor Theme Park! Love the place...

The Christmas decor in Gurney Plaza in Gurney Drive, Penang.

Oh Great Eastern Mall, i was actually expecting more. But then, still fine to me...

Halfway shopping in Great E Mall, i spotted a shop, At Home, selling Christmas tree. Beautiful?

Christmas tree at my Ah Ku's house. With the gifts, the tree looks more than just perfect!

I guess you may be wondering that i had been traveling much, but remember it's the HOLIDAYS! I also managed to catch some Christmas movies on the telly, they seemed almost irresistable and fun. Some are really touching stories and others are just so meaningful... The message is sent. Some examples of the movies i watched are A Town Without Christmas, Silent Night and Meet The Santas. I watched these movies before, and i had no second thought of watching it again! I'm even looking forward for more these days... like 'Shrek the Halls' on tv3 tomorrow!

Life is wonderful! Merry Christmas everyone and lets usher in the happiness together this Christmas!

Makan Versus Eat...

" Do you live to eat, or eat to live?"

The choice is yours. It's absolutely true if we choose to eat to live to sustain life and be a healthy human being. But don't you feel that at times, we actually live to eat. Malaysia is famously known as a food haven and that all sorts of food from diverse style can be found here. It's challenging to try and resist the various food served as the taste stimulates our taste buds and make us impossible to pause even for a second as the stomach begins to crave for more!

After a wonderful trip to Genting with my friends, i was all geared up to head north with my father's and my childhood friends. We called the trip, the Makan Trip, and no doubt that all of us went for an eating spree. The trip was to Sungai Petani, Penang and through Ipoh as well. Bloated, throughout the trip, it was certainly full for the stomach, and the heart as well.

Shaun and Wai Min struggling to cut open the creature for a lip-smacking taste ahead

Me, Vivian and my sis enjoying the quenching yet delicious drink in a hidden location

As early as 6, the crowd began to flood in the well-known Gurney Drive, perfect for food enthusiast

Try stomaching this, having meals up to 7 times per day, of which i think it's too much, but still with it. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, after-lunch (not tea break), tea, dinner and finally supper. The pictures above are just part of it.

My makan spree did not come to an end just yet, but more ahead. Yesterday, my 'Ah Ku' bought us lunch and dinner. We had a sort-of-like Christmas gathering in his house in the evening and had exchange gifts among us. I was flabbergasted, in a pleasant way, of the gifts i received. I longed for storybooks and i got 2 at once. Also, the perfume, chocolates and key chain were lovely gifts and truly treasuring it.

Back to the lunch, we ate at Shogun in One Utama (sorry, no pictures for this as the rest doesn't allow anyone to take pictures of the food). We feasted and pampered ourselves with scrumptious food, ranging from cod fish to the famous salmon, and Chawan Mushi to tempura prawns! We quaffed the green tea too and devoured whatever comes in our way. A bit of exaggeration, but it's true. Spent about 3 hours there, we strut ourselves out, laughing at the how our stomach had grown! Long time no see Colin, Sue Ann and Sue Yin, i was ecstatic to see them again. Had dinner together at Oldtown Kopitiam and ate once more.

With Christmas and New Year in just one week time, i believe it's the season to share, forgive and forget, and give and get. Thank You for the food we ate, and i thank once more to everyone involved. Isn't life simply wonderful? Merry Christmas and wish me luck surviving the bursting of my stomach!

With Rain Comes Shine!

" You are your scriptwriter, and the play is never finished, no matter what age, position or place in life "

I finally decided to have a blog (i had one with xanga, but it's no longer updated). After much torturous, tiring and pressurized months of study, it's finally over and lets together usher in the sweet taste of freedom for the time being. To spend most of my time nowadays, I'm reading 'Being the Best' by Denis W. and i found many interesting quotes as well as true life experience in that book (including the one above). The book was good to the extend that it teaches the true meaning of success and what should everyone learn in life. That influenced me to name this blog, 'The Wonders Of Life' and no doubt that life is absolutely wonderful if you know how.

The quote above simply means that you decide how you want to move and progress your life. No matter what, you take control of your life and search for joy and happiness in everything you do, and not disappointment and regret later part in life.

Isn't life simply wonderful? You can have rainy days, sunny days, happy days and sad days or even a mix-of-emotion day. To date, it has been raining for the past few days and this also caused much problems, or i should say 'challenges' to be optimistic. On the 5 to the 7 of December, my friends and i spent a 3 day 2 night stay at Awana, with much hope and anticipation to play at the outdoor theme park on the second day. Unfortunately, it was misty and at times, it was drizzling. The outdoor theme park was only open for family rides and the Spinner. We decided to only play indoors. Despite the unpleasant condition, i believe that the indoor theme park had brought joy to us and that we can always go there again, someday.

Yesterday, the 'grass-cutter' came to cut the grass in the morning and again, it was drizzling. We had to double our effort and complete the task even quicker, before it pours later. Albeit the drizzle, we did it well and also found joy in our doing- the place looks much more tidy and organized now. Today, Wai Han and i went to Berjaya Hills (Bukit Tinggi) to accompany my dad for a golf game with my uncles and cousin. Both of us spent our time at the Rabbit Park while waiting for my dad to finish the game. Again, it was drizzling and we were only able to enter the Rabbit Park under the shelter, it was a small space. We fed the rabbits despite the drizzle. I could see that the rabbits welcomed our attendance and were delighted to see us.

With these true life encounters, it's true that with rain, there will sure be some shine, only that we need to search, dig and treasure the shine although it takes tremendous effort and sacrifice. With 'Rain Comes Shine'. That's all for my first post and i will try my very best to update it as soon as possible...wc07
