Do you know what are the symptoms of the recent flu caused by the H1N1 virus? Can you distinguish between a common flu and this influenza A? I can't tell exactly how but if you catch a flu, i suggest you better take care of yourself and start taking medicine. Apart from flu, some other symptoms are fever, muscle/joint pain, cough, sore throat and headache. Then, go seek a doctor immediately!
Prevention is better than cure, certainly! Do you know how tiring is it when you get ill? You don't have the energy, or much energy, to do work or move about. All you want to do is to rest. And rest. I was feeling under the weather last Saturday- i'm not sure if it's the water i drank, or the sudden change in temperature on Friday morning. Nonetheless, i was caught with a flu and i began to question myself if i had become a victim of this flu. Fortunately, after taking medicine and rested for hours, i was cured. I was a normal flu. Hopefully, the flu does not strike back.
There are a few death in Malaysia due to this flu too. In my uni, the number of cases of students infected with this flu is on the rise- and this then worries me. They gave free masks today to students and i will not hesitate to wear it hereon.
On the bottle is written, "So what."
However, class still goes on as usual- my uni has not been asked to close. Oh, how i wish- then i can have my holidays... wc09 urges you to wear a mask: firstly for protection, and secondly, don't you think it makes a good fashion trend?

Graduating from Foundation years has been a fun ride and entering Undergraduate years is... i don't know what to expect out of it yet. Only the first week and i can already feel the pressure weighing in on my shoulders. Nothing is getting simpler. Every subject, or course, is getting complicated and more sophisticated, and so that's life we have to face.
First week is usually the introductory week, and if the lecturer is dedicated enough, i would have to listen to lectures. The good thing about the first week is that i don't have much things to do. It's the time i have to register for my courses and classes, and i despise the registration process. Sometimes these registrations could drive you up the wall- it surely did for me since Season 1! Why? Firstly, your timetable clashes with one course to another and you have to troublesomely find your lecturers, and secondly, the course you want to take is full and you have no other options but to push it to your following semesters.
A new place means a new environment. I'm currently staying in Village 2, and before and after class, and to meals, i have to hike up three flights of stairs- as compared to Village 6, my room was on the ground floor. As much as i want to be optimistic- like treating it as an exercise, it is tiring long term. Plus, walking to lectures are surely to already wear my feet and with the climb, it's more than exhausting reaching the top.

*smacks head* Only the first week and i had a quiz on differentiation and integration. Due to the long-no-touch-book break, i found that my Maths are getting rusty and it's time i revisit those Maths. Hopefully everything went fine, and will go on being better. *smacks head again* Felt somewhat guilty i didn't study much this week- because there weren't much things to do. Some of the books and lecture notes are not available yet. So, the lecture is the time to study.
With not much things to do, i took the opportunity to watch movies this first week- got them from my friends. 'Marley and Me' is a show starring Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston, and a dog. The ending of the show almost made me cry, knowing that i once used to have dogs and these things always refresh my memory about them- like 'Eight Below'. Other than that, the story moves very slowly. On the contrary, 'Angels and Demons' and 'Sunshine' are rather fast paced. After watching 'The Da Vinci Code', i was sort of gave up on 'Angels and Demons' and did not want to watch this movie in the cinema, and i waited for the DVD. Hate to admit, but i should have watched it at the cinema. The movie is awesome! I did not read the book, so i did not know what to expect or predict. I went with the flow of the story, following the path led after 'illuminati'. Ewan McGregor played the role of a Father very well, and i had this funny feeling that he would be the twist of the story. Go watch it, it is awesome. And for 'Sunshine', it is a 2007 movie, one that i wanted to watch in the cinema but never had the chance too. It is suspenseful, but the story line is predictable. A group of astronauts and a physicist fly to the Sun in hope to save the Sun from dying. Datuk Michelle Yeoh surely made Malaysians proud though her character is just a supporting one. It doesn't pack that much of a punch, it is a nice watch.
I missed the chance to witness the solar eclipse on the 22nd July due to the rush for tutorial registration. And i blamed myself too because i didn't know what time could the eclipse be seen in Malaysia. Anyway, i have to wait for the next one in the coming years- and i will try my utmost best to see.
As you should have noticed, i changed my blog title and the tagline- well, it's high time i needed an upgrade to spice up my blog. What do you think? Still 'signature' by 'The Wonders of Life', 'Writing Life' sounds more befitting to my current situation and i rather keep it short and sweet. As for the tagline, no matter what, life must go on. The 'writer's block' symbolises the obstacle one faces in life, and through these obstacle is what makes us stronger, or better. We should not stumble and give up whenever we meet an obstacle. Every being has their own strength and weakness, experience and background. Every being has a story to tell, and particularly in this blog, i story my life- of course, the wonders of life. Not making it sound too self-indulgent, i hope that you would enjoy reading my blog and continue to support me. Together, we strive to be for the better!

Before i begin this post, first and foremost, i would like to congratulate my cousin on his marriage. The wedding was held in Canada. Cousin Sunni and Adlina, your new adventure begins hereon!
I believe if the third of a movie comes out, it should be good. Lord of the Rings made big. Spiderman was amazing. X-Men was superb. Shrek was entertaining. And now comes the latest sequel in the Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, which happens to be a third.
I like it for an animation movie, that's for sure. Though i did not watch the first and the second, i could easily understood the story and the characters as it goes on. The graphics of this movie is sharp and real, unlike some other movies i have dreaded watching. The storyline is simple and rather predictable. The beginning is slightly draggy here and there- Manny and Ellie are expecting a baby and Manny gets cold feet, Diego questions his ability, Sid desires to be a parent, but when it comes to start of the adventure, the story takes a knot faster. The final part of the adventure was most captivating and engaging.
It was fun to watch Manny and his friends rescue Sid, who was assumed to be kidnapped by the Mother Dinosaur. They adventured into a land beneath their home and it was inhabited with extinct dinosaurs. They faced several perilous tasks along the way, and this shows to what extent friends would do in the time of need- they forgo themselves, they overcome the weaknesses within themselves, they learn to trust one another and they support each other throughout their quest.
This movie has its moments too. I laughed really loud during the part when the possums pointed toward Sid and the 'pilot' replied 'Roger'. The possums, however, misinterpreted the reply and questioned him who was 'Roger'. I was taken aback when Diego overcame his weakness and Manny showed fatherly-strength. I was thrilled when the possums 'shot' down the enemy's 'plane'. The co-operation shown by them in trapping was also inspiring. This movie blends really well, and i enjoyed watching it- like Shrek 2! A great pick for the weekend.
You just have to like the ending!
Apart from Ice Age 3, i have been watching other shows, either on the telly or downloaded from the Internet. I just watched Pizza My Heart, a romantic comedy movie. It's about family rivalry on pizzas coming to peace when their child fall for each other. Entertaining yet light. I don't follow Smallville but ever since my holidays began, i tried to watch it- Season 6, and i really like it. Excitedly, i downloaded episode Justice- the highest rated of all episodes of Season 6 and probably of Smallville. And it is awesome. Even if you don't follow, you'll still like the adventure!
wc09 is off to watch Justice once again, and Ice Age is, literally, fun!

Have you tried going on an outing without any specific aim? This happened to me last Friday, when my sister and i were rather free as we were still holidaying. I called my aunt to join us, knowing that she too may be free. And so we planned for a Sunway-trip together.
We met at my aunt's house and Colin was there too. Excitedly, the four of us embarked on our journey to Sunway. We had brunch at a coffee shop outside Sunway Pyramid and the Sarawak Mee was delicious- if only i had not taken my breakfast earlier that morning. After the if-i-hadn't-eaten-my-breakfast meal, my sister and i tried ice skating. Finally. I have always wanted to try ice skating and it was enjoyable. For weekdays, it's priced at RM 13 per entry.

Since it was our first time ice skating (we roller-skated before), we decided to hold on to the sides to get the hang of it. Moving precariously at the far end.
After that, yeah, i can ice-skate- the brown shirt figure in high speed is me!

After having a wonderful time on the ice, we decided to leave and rejoined my aunt and my cousin. Over an ice-cream cone, we discussed what was our next move. There weren't many good movies these days. Entering the theme park about 3 felt like a waste. An absolute no shopping day. Fortunately, as we licked our final ice cream, it was set for an unexpected road trip to Klang.
It was terribly fun-voyage of the four Kuala Lumpurians. It has been many years ago since we went to Klang. We followed road signs and asked several people for directions. Famously known for it's Bak Kut Teh, we opened our eyes to any of the shops in the town area. But to our surprise, we couldn't find many. Weird.
We continued on driving in Klang. And indeed driving in circles! After almost giving up on the hunt for Bak Kut Teh, we gave in to return to the first shop we saw, that if we can return that way. Colin was, at that moment, adamant to have his Bak Kut Teh.
Our voyage was a success- we found a Bak Kut Teh restaurant and we headed for it. Our stomach were craving noisily for Bak Kut Teh.
Yay-ing to ourselves! Time to devour the pot clean.
The Bak Kut Teh was succulent. The meat was tender. The oil rice was tasty. The meal was fulfilling and satisfying! No doubt, Klang has nice Bak Kut Teh. After dinner, we returned to SJ and rested before heading for 'yum-cha' at Sri Melur. Then we drove back home.
The outing was fun and surely we'll have it once more. I'll be planning for an all-cousin outing soon, hopefully during my next break! Til then wc09 wonders the fun ride.

It has been awhile since i last blogged. Well, it is not that i don't have any materials to blog about, or that i was smacked with laziness. In a glimpse, i watched Transformers 2 the second time already and i am glad it is still doing very well; went to Melaka for yet another 'makan-makan' trip and was surprised over a new discovery; and busied myself with Restaurant City in Facebook. But i'm not going to dwell about these. Instead, i'm going to blog about something more interesting. Or so i thought.
Nearly 2 weeks ago, the world was stunned with the departure of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson and we never seem to get enough with him. In a way, it is true that because of his death, people are starting to like him back, or like him more. When he was around, not many of his songs were being played. Now, walking into a shopping mall, you are surely to listen to at least his Thriller, or Billie Jeans, or any of his other hit singles. His life has become a story people talk about when people meet- he himself has become the topic of a conversation. These show how he has made impact to the world.
Live from Staples Centre, 8tv and E! News showed Michael Jackson's Memorial service being held. It was 1.00 am Malaysian time at the time of the service and i fought hard not to fall asleep just to watch it. It was moving to hear about MJ from his friends and family. Some could not hold back their tears as they spoke. There were performances by Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson and many other celebrities.
He may have left us, but he also will always be around us. Michael's spirit was believed to be in his Neverland ranch. Whether or not i think it's MJ, i'm not sure. You see it for yourself and decide.
I have always wanted to read the Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis and i finally had the time, and the books, to fulfill my long time desire. CS Lewis is an amazing writer. The Chronicles of Narnia opens my mind to fascinating creativity and allows my mind to be in a playground of complete imagination. 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe' and 'Prince Caspian' have been adapted into a movie. I wondered why can't his other books in the Narnia series turn into a movie- like how they are adapting almost all of the Harry Potter books. The Silver Chair and the Last Battle are awesome.
CS Lewis writes in a different style, and as you read, you feel as if it is being told by someone to you. The words become alive, vivid, and if you put yourself into the shoes of any of the children- Peter, Edmund, Lucy, Susan, Eustace, Jill, or Prince Caspian, or Rilian, i doubt you would want to escape from the magical land, Narnia. Apart from the creative plot, it holds plenty of lessons to be learned- loyalty, friendship, trust, responsibility, faith, patience, confidence, and many others.

What else could have accompanied me as i traveled, as i read, and as i played but my family and music. These days, apart from playing MJ's songs in my playlist, i'm addicted to To make you feel my love, a cover by Kris Allen sang during Country theme and Stay the same (don't you ever wish) by Joey McIntyre. Kris' voice is amazing in that song and you must try listening to it, the studio version. Joey's song was a 1999 single, old but brings back memories. Funny thing about him.
I didn't know he is a member of the New Kids on The Block, NKOTB, with Jordan Knight- who sang a duet Say Goodbye, and 3 others. What more was that i didn't know NKOTB was actually an old boy band, famous during the 1980s and 1990s, before the Backstreet Boys era. Listening to 2 in the Morning, they don't exactly sound like their age. I didn't know voice can be deceiving too. I thought NKOTB was something like The Click Five or Westlife. I was completely surprised. And currently, i'm so 'into' Stay the same by Joey McIntyre. The lyric of the song is meaningful- And i hope you always stay the same, cause there's nothing bout you i would change. Old song from the past, heard it before, hearing it again.

It was saddening to know the shocking departure of Michael Jackson. He thrilled us with so many hit singles that will stay evergreen. He was the past, and he is the future. He is the real pop deal and undoubtedly the one and only King of Pop. This was how i first heard the news.
Dad: WC, you wanna go breakfast?
Me: Er... okay (I was still half asleep)
Dad: Then faster get up.
Me: Okay...
Dad: You wanna know something shocking i heard this morning?
Me: (Still half asleep and not wanting to get up) Er... yeah?
Dad: Yeah... The radio station is now talking about it...
Then the news flocked the radio and TV stations. The SMS circulated. The Facebook. Even when i went out for breakfast, the owner of the shop was talking about it. Michael Jackson is- i will use the present tense, an international popstar sensation! He is truly a music icon and defines pop music like no other. Honestly, i did not grow up listening to his songs, but how can you not like them?
Thriller. Man in the mirror. Heal the world. We are the world. Billie jeans. Beat it. I'll be there. You're not alone. Black or white. Bad. Smooth criminal. Human nature. Wanna be startin' something. The way you make me feel. The Earth song. Don't stop til you get enough. And the list goes on and on!
I don't recall any MJ moments in my life either. But i envy my mother and my aunt who attended his concert in Malaysia years ago. If i were given a chance to go for his concert, i would. He is the best performer in the world and his concert is top-notch . His moonwalking is absolutely amazing! 8tv played his Dangerous concert in Bucharest recently and apart from his A list of songs, he is magical and unique on stage.
When i surfed the Net for further news about his death, i read some nasty comments about him. Because of his scandal, people bad-mouthed him and even his death, they did not sympathize. Despite his scandal, i choose to remember him as the King of Pop. The man who made pop music so great. The man with fascinating dance moves. The man whose voice has touched the hearts of many. And the man who made the world a better place.
Michael Jackson! Though you may be gone, you left us with the best gift you can give to the world. With respect and gratitude, i sincerely thank you. wc09 wipes tears.

I have nothing to say- i'm speechless! I shall begin with the movie then the book. This post may be on the verge of being a spoiler but i can assure you that i will keep the juice for you.
Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen is AWESOMELY AMAZING. It is beyond my expectation- i thought it will be a blast in the beginning, mild in the mid, and blast again in the end like the first. As for the sequel, it was blast, blast, and blast all the way to the end. Good news or bad news first? Alright, the bad news is that you have to be on the edge of your seat for more than 2 hours. The good news is that you will be taken on a ride you will never soon forget with its brilliant effects and heart-pounding actions, and the scenes that surely make you go WOW! Micheal Bay is an action-movie maestro! Within the first 10 minutes, i sensed a tinge coming down my spine, and at that moment, i knew the movie will be great. It packs a punch of action with humourous jokes, romantic scenes, and a slice of tragedy. Ignore the negative criticisms you heard about the movie, because i can assure you that, especially if you're a Transformers' fan, you will never leave the show saying it is not good- because it really really really isn't.
If you think that the Fallen is Megatron, you are definitely wrong! In the past, The Fallen is actually part of the Primes but he betrayed the others, leading him into the darker side. There is a machine that can be used to destroy mankind and this interests the Fallen. The other Primes have taken the choice to guard it forever, until now. And the Fallen is taking revenge. With the help of Megatron- resurrected by the other Decepticons, he returns to Earth for the same desire. However, with Optimus Prime in his way- and the only Autobots that can kill the Fallen, an immense and intense war breaks between the 2.
The Autobots in the movie are Optimus Prime- he seemed stronger than in the first movie and has a canon, the adorable Bumblebee, Ironhide, Ratchet, Sideswipe, Archee, Jolt, twin Skids and Mudflap and cross-over Jetfire. The Decepticons in the movie are Megatron, Starscream, Sideways, Scorponok, Soundwave, Ravage, the Doctor, Wheelie, Demolisher, Devastator, and the Fallen.
I want Bumblebee. Both Bumblebee and Optimus play significant roles in the sequel.

The movie is fantastic! Although it lacks on the plot, the movie is a must-watch for movie-goers. it is so so fast paced that you don't realise the time ticking away. If you ask for comparison, i'm not going to do it- because they are simply awesome. A great choice for the weekend ahead- the BEST ACTION movie i have seen!
Enough with the movie, i'll now congratulate Nicholas Sparks for producing yet another fabulous book- The Lucky One. Although it may not be his best or my favourite, it has that oomph at the end that makes him one of the best writers in the world! Seriously, the last few chapters are simply so suspenseful and, again, intense. As i read, i could picture the images vividly in my mind. The pages turned so fast that i didn't want it to end. The development of the plot is there, but it might be a little draggy. Though so, it's vital for the ending. I think the ending is the climax. And the ending makes the waiting worth.
Logan Thibault, a marine, finds a photograph owned by Elizabeth, a divorce mother. Logan's friend, Victor believes that the picture is a lucky charm as Logan survived deadly combats and won poker games he never have won before. Victor suggests Logan to find the woman in the picture as he said it to ensure the 'balance'. Logan follows his advice and found the woman, keeping the picture a secret. Keith, Elizabeth's ex, does not feel comfortable with Logan and the conflicts begin. However, Ben, Elizabeth's son, likes Logan and his dog, Zeus. Elizabeth lives with her grandmother, Nana- i enjoy her character. After all was said and done, Logan secretly returns the picture to Ben. A storm later attacks the little town, and in the few remaining chapters, the true juice of the story surfaces with thrilling suspense.
In the end, i'm not sure who survived and who died. I had to read and re-read the epilogue numerous times to really know the answer- and i still don't really know. Personally, i prefer for them both to die, because a tragic ending leaves an impact far greater than happily-ever-afters. So, my question is, who really is the Lucky One? Logan? Elizabeth? Or Ben?
Keep up the fantastic works, Micheal Bay and crew, and Nicholas Sparks. I am and always will be a fan of you! wc09 enters his Camaro and rides away with the lucky one.

Enough with seeing sea creatures in the aquarium, it was time for us to swim with them. Third day started off with an early rise from bed. We had to prepare ourselves and get ready to leave for Pulau Payar. From the jetty, it took us about an hour before arriving at the marine park. It was time to snorkel!

We brought bread and fed the fish while we snorkeled. After lunch, there was the shark feeding session. I kept my handphone in the locker and couldn't take any photograph about it. There were many baby sharks! Unfortunately, when my handphone was out, the baby sharks seemed to have hid.
Sun-burned, we ferried back to the jetty and headed to our hotel. Enough with salt water, we soaked ourselves in the chlorinated pool water while enjoying the evening sun. The snorkeling activity took us the whole day, and after all was said and done, we went for our steamboat dinner in the same Chinese Restaurant.
Seconds before we devoured the food! Our steamboat dinner lasted until 11 and we decided to leave for the Lang Square to meet the eagle beautifully lit under the night sky. As we arrived at the Lang Square...
One by one, the lights slowly switched off. And the eagle flew in darkness! The visiting hours are until midnight.
We lingered outside and returned to our hotel later disappointed. The fourth and final day, we checked out early morning and headed for breakfast. After breakfast, we hunt for chocolates- a must-do in Langkawi since it's duty-free. Cheaper prices as compared to KL, i could not help but to dig into my pockets as i grabbed the chocolates i wanted off the shelves. Just standing in front of the shop, you will be spoilt for choice with the numerous brands and flavours! Got them paid and packed, we headed for our final destination.

Since we missed it the other day, we returned for the cable car. Priced at RM 15 for MyKad holders (if not, it's a deep RM 30), the joy ride begins here, awaiting to board the car.

After a break at the cafe feet above the ground, we decided to string back before the mist rolled in. The ride, as i have just said, was joyful all along!
Lunch at a restaurant- bad service. After lunch, we swapped positions and headed back to the jetty for Kuala Kedah.
At last, the Helang! (Eagle). Bidding good bye to my friends and to the eagle- the symbol of the island was hard, but it was time.
Truly, the adventure i had in the island has become an experience i will never forget!
Have i conquered Langkawi? Almost. If you want to travel around the island, the best mean of transport is to rent a car- that way, you can drive anywhere at anytime. Across the island only takes about half an hour, so you'll see everything along the way.
Last words, the trip was fun. Missions well done. Spending time in Langkawi, with my friends, is something ordinary yet it felt extraordinary with the right people around! Excuse wc09, he needs to indulge in his bag of chocolates and cheers to the wonders of life!

The friendly trip to Langkawi was fun and memorable- despite the complaints about the shallowness of our wallets now. We spent 4 days exploring and experiencing Langkawi. From my observation, it is a very quiet place. The road seemed empty, as if it had become a racing spot. The shops closed early, leaving us with little 'night life'. Having said that though, i envy the peace and tranquility- something that is lacking in KL. So, here i go, with my missions to accomplish.
My flight was at 7 pm. I left home slightly after 2 to KL Central by Putra LRT. Upon arrival at the terminal, i was lost as it was my first time there and so i first seeked the information counter. The lady directed me to the wrong place and she wasn't very friendly. I returned the second time to the counter, asking from a different lady who was much better in person, and she directed me to the correct place. I descended to the lower floor and waited for the bus to take me to LCCT. The journey there took approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. I waited for my friends in LCCT and as they came, we checked-in and waited patiently for the delayed flight. About 7.10pm, the plane took flight.

In an hour time, we landed in the Langkawi International Airport and waited for my friends, who were already there, to come pick us up for dinner and to our hotel- City Bayview.
Luck wasn't on our side the very next day. The cable car was closed and we only knew about this when we were there. Not wasting much time, we explored the Oriental Village and later the Telaga Tujuh & Waterfall.
A nice place to walk- though in our hearts, we were rather disappointed the cable car was closed as it was one of the must-do attractions in Langkawi.

After saying good bye to the Waterfall, we headed for lunch in a Chinese Restaurant. The food was alright, nothing spectacular. Later, we visited the Underwater World. As i have said, we were not very lucky and the 3D theater was closed. Another disappointment as we paid RM 28 and we expected more.

Walking through the underwater tunnel, we met this gigantic ray and a few 'kerapus' which were not much different in size as compared to the ray. To be honest, i was intimidated by the gigantic size of the creatures!

It was time for us to leave the Underwater World as we had seen everything there was on display. There was this section where we were allowed to touch hands-on on some sea creatures like sea cucumber and baby shark- if we can beat their magnificent speed in water! Exiting the Underwater World, i was somehow pleased with my visit. It was truly an amazing time, as i am and always will be, an ocean enthusiast.
Dinner at Pasar Malam (Night Market), located within walking distance from my hotel. After dinner, it was time to have our rest, for the next day, Day 3, will be an adventure- with luck starting to rest on our side. Part 2 coming up soon! wc09 swims both in the river water and the sea water!
